The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the U.S. The amendments to the Constitution are refered to whenever new laws are being instated. The Constitution is an important part of our government. On July 1, 1971, the 26th amendment was ratified. The 26th amendment gave people 18 years and older the right to vote.
In 2004, the presidential election was very popular due to the war and a much needed change in the way our nation was run. Sean "P. Diddy" Combs founded a non-partisan and non-profit organization called
Citizen Change. The goal of the organization is "to make voting hot, sexy and relevant to a generation that hasn't reached full participation in the political process." The campaign targeted young people aged 18-30 that were able to vote. The organization advertised there campaign by making "Vote or Die" t-shirts.
I wasn't able to vote in the 2004 election. However, I was very eager in the months before the election to make my voice heard. I think it is VERY important for young people to recognize the kind of "power" they possess. WE have the power to make change. WE have the power to change the outcome of the future. We need to make our voices heard. We need to ...
be heard!
