Be Aware!

I read today on my professor's blog about a project called The GhostCycle Project. It is a great project to make driver's of vehicles aware of the bicyclists that are out there. The shock value is enough to make driver's aware of who is out there. So watch out!

Be heard!

The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the U.S. The amendments to the Constitution are refered to whenever new laws are being instated. The Constitution is an important part of our government. On July 1, 1971, the 26th amendment was ratified. The 26th amendment gave people 18 years and older the right to vote.
In 2004, the presidential election was very popular due to the war and a much needed change in the way our nation was run. Sean "P. Diddy" Combs founded a non-partisan and non-profit organization called Citizen Change. The goal of the organization is "to make voting hot, sexy and relevant to a generation that hasn't reached full participation in the political process." The campaign targeted young people aged 18-30 that were able to vote. The organization advertised there campaign by making "Vote or Die" t-shirts.
I wasn't able to vote in the 2004 election. However, I was very eager in the months before the election to make my voice heard. I think it is VERY important for young people to recognize the kind of "power" they possess. WE have the power to make change. WE have the power to change the outcome of the future. We need to make our voices heard. We need to ... be heard!

Intro to Me

Who am I as a writer? What is a writer? Am I a unique writer? Why do I write? These are all questions that I have not really thought about. They are difficult questions to answer.
I am trying to figure out what kind of writer I am. But am I a certain kind? I don't really know. I would consider myself creative. I love art. But isn't writing an art? I have not had much experience with writing. The only writing I have done have been cut and dry assignments from teachers in high school. I have found ways to make assignments different, unique. So I would say I am unique, not just as a writer, but as a person. Writing is a way to express myself. Express my uniqueness.
